From the small coastal town of Moore Park Beach in Queensland Australia, Shannon Figallo writes The Retribution Series between working, volunteering and providing a free taxi service to her five children.
After almost a decade working as an administrative assistant for Moore Park Beach Glass & Security, in 2019 a traumatic injury to her shoulders left her unable to work full time. Following the incident, Shannon found solace in reading, which slowly led to writing her own stories. A few dot points turned into four handwritten notebooks that became the manuscript for the first book in The Retribution Series.
When she’s not writing, Shannon volunteers as a team manager and sits on the board of the Moore Park Beach Surf Lifesaving Club where she has been an active member since 2006.
With support from her husband Paul, that book became the catalyst of her journey to not only acknowledge, but to overcome her past trauma. The series may be a work of fiction, but they are still relevant in today’s fight against domestic violence.
