Editing Services
Hembury Books has highly skilled in-house editors. Some of our editors are also authors, so they understand the emotional journey of publishing a book.
All our authors meet their editor during a Google Meets video call. It gives the author a chance to introduce themselves and their book, and for the editor to explain how they work. We find this builds rapport and removes some of the anxiety around having your work edited.
We recommend that a manuscript have two rounds of editing: a copy edit followed by a proof edit. However, we are happy to be guided by you in terms of what is needed, and it is not mandatory for your book to be edited by Hembury Books. We understand that it may already have been edited before you got in touch.
We can also do a blended edit, whereby it is proofed and given a light copy edit (at a 50% rate of the copy edit fees)
