Rob Pittman is a published author and a lover of the written word. He can’t remember not writing. At twelve he won a Department of Education prize for writing a play in sixth class at his inner Sydney school and says “he was kidnapped at a young age by writing.”

Rob’s first children’s book, Santa and Fergie’s Great Big Adventure, received tremendous support and praise from young children to adults.

His new book, Help, is an early reader which follows the same magic tractor, Fergie, as she ponders on when and whom children should ask for help. It is set in the Megalong Valley near Rob’s home in the Blue Mountains.

Throughout his life, Rob has written constantly, publishing poetry and stories through numerous online platforms and regularly taking part in writing contests created by his colleagues. Rob finds a competitive drive within himself when he writes. He is always working on something new and is currently writing a memoir about his early life as a street kid, which will include poetry and photography.

Rob lives in the Blue Mountains with his wife, Lee. The support she has received from the McGrath Foundation and the Cancer Wellness Support Centre at Leura during her experience living with cancer has been deeply appreciated by the couple. They continue to donate profits from Rob’s books to the charities.
